We have had two major projects for which Envision was our designer. These were the conversion of an adobe stable to a guesthouse in 2011 and a major extension to our main house in 2013/14. The approach to both of our projects was meticulous and started with a discussion of our aims. In both cases Tom Kirschner, the owner, gave us his personal attention and took photographs and dimensions with him from the first meeting to draft out a design for discussion. We were able at all stages to consider the designs and shape them to our wishes. Envision kept a watching brief over the practicality of our thoughts and the requirements of building codes. Many of our developing design ideas were quickly dealt with as we were able to exchange images and thoughts by e-mail. This meant that we were able to get to a finished design quickly and efficiently. Envision walked us through complex engineering considerations as our buildings which we were remodeling and repurposing were built in adobe they then submitted our designs for planning consent and got them passed. The plans we received were detailed and easily interpreted by our contractors and the building inspector so that our projects were completed without design glitches. If you want a designer sympathetic to local aesthetics and capable of generating economic, practical and sound engineering plans, Envision should be your choice.

Mr. Kirschner was asked to design a solar ramada to provide south facing sunshade to our hillside home. Additionally we asked the design to accommodate solar heating capacity for our in-ground pool. His design complimented the home (Tuscan theme), provided the shade and solar heat capacity in spades. We essentially added another room to our home. A "room" that is second only to the kitchen for daily usage. His design was easy to follow for the carpenter and he provided almost instant support when questions (minor) arose. His design saved us construction money and has provided a solid and durable addition to our home. We wouldn't hesitate for a minute in using Mr. Kirschner again.
